The House

Basement Outgoing Plumbing

Introduction

The future basement bathroom needs lots of extra plumbing installed. The first step was to take the concrete up. Now that we had that done, it was time to install the outgoing plumbing that will attach to the main sewage line out of the house. There is not much for me to say about this job as I actually hired a plumber to come in and do it. Why hire out for this job? There are a couple of reasons. First off, the pipes will be under concrete so if I messed up, the concrete would have to come back up before I could fix it. This is not ideal for a novice. Second, I had no idea how to make the connection to the house's main sewer line. That was definitly a task best left up to a professional.

The plumber was kind enough to come out on a Saterday and price out the job for free. I told him roughly where the various fixtures were going and he told me where to cut the concrete.

We ended up adding outgoing lines for a sink, tub, toilet, lundry tub, and a utility sink. This will cover three different rooms in the future finished basement - the bathroom, laundry room, and work room. Here a photo of the his finished work. I sure this will inspire you to look at all the photos of the outgong plumbing installation
